Burying Myself In My Work

Long Lost Friend Studio is back from our summer YouTube break. As Herman Munster would say: Oh, goody! In this week’s video, we ink and tone those classic horror-sitcom characters, The Munsters. And it’s all because that zany Rob Zombie trailer is on everyone’s lips.

Most people doing reviews and reaction videos seem to take issue with the trailer for some reason. Something about the colors or the lighting or the tone. Maybe they think a Munsters movie helmed by Rob Zombie should be scary, and not so silly. Some of the reviews are reserved, and respectful. But an alarming amount of them — and this is just for a trailer, mind you — really go for the throat.

You can go to YouTube to see what we think about the trailer — as if it mattered — but the main thrust behind our video is to go over the process I used in creating the Munsters illustration with Clip Studio Paint. I bust out a few of my favorite tools, tips, and techniques.

So if you have a few minutes to kill and you’re a fan of goofy old monster shows, you can listen to Michelle and I gab about the Munsters and watch me do some digital inking. I think we stitched together a pretty good episode.

As a reminder to our patrons, members of the Long Lost Friend Studio Patreon get an early preview of the video, some bonus content, and a downloadable coloring sheet. Some tiers even get an extra inking video and more directionless babbling, the lucky ducks. -v
